Clinical Research Psychiatrist - OCD and Anxiety Disorders

Butler Hospital and the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Clinical Research Psychiatrist to join our team in conducting cutting-edge research in obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The position will be located in the internationally recognized OCD Research Program at Butler Hospital, the main psychiatric academic affiliate of the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. The successful candidate will develop their own area of externally funded research, in collaboration with established faculty in the Department of Psychiatry, the Alpert Medical School, and Brown University more broadly. 

Responsibilities: 

? Develop and participate in research studies focused on OCD and related disorders 

? Conduct diagnostic evaluations and provide medication management for patients in the Butler OCD & Anxiety Disorders program 

? Serve as a key member of the interdisciplinary team in the OCD Program, including attending weekly team meetings and supervising trainees as needed 

? Assist with grant applications and fundraising efforts to support the program's research initiatives 

? Collaborate with other researchers both within Butler Hospital and external institutions 


Minimum requirements include: board eligibility or certification in Psychiatry, completion of an accredited psychiatry residency program, strong clinical background in obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety, excellence in patient care and teaching, and a commitment to scholarly participation in the internationally recognized OCD research programs of The Warren Alpert Medical School. Experience in anxiety disorders, diagnostic evaluations, brain circuit-based interventions and treatment is highly desirable. It is preferred that the candidate’s research experience focus on anxiety disorders or a closely related field.
