In psychiatric education, we are currently being inundated with technological advances, changing accreditation standards, and challenges to our role as education leaders. How do we navigate the needs of the moment while remaining focused on the creative and human elements that make psychiatric education leadership meaningful?

The 2027 meeting theme will focus on the theme: “Harmony and Humanity: Centering Creativity and Generativity in Education Leadership.” This theme highlights not only the creative elements that bring joy to our teaching, such as the medical humanities or technological innovation, but also our common humanity. Our connections to peers and our learners have been cited as some of the most meaningful aspects of the program director role, and those connections can have lasting impacts long after trainees graduate from our programs. We will be celebrating everything that brings joy and meaning to our role as education leaders while embracing the challenges and changes of tomorrow.

The meeting aims to equip leaders in psychiatric education with the tools and insights needed to navigate the challenges and opportunities brought about by change. Attendees will engage in a series of thought-provoking plenary sessions, interactive workshops, an innovations showcase, an arts in action session, a book club, and networking opportunities designed to foster collaboration and inspire forward-thinking approaches in residency and fellowship training.

Program Administrator Symposium

The AADPRT Annual Meeting is the only national meeting where Program Administrators (PAs) in psychiatry residency and fellowship training programs can engage in targeted professional development and learn from experienced colleagues from around the nation. It’s an immersion into best practices and information that make a psychiatry residency training program run like a well-oiled machine.
