Associate Residency Program Director

The Department of Psychiatry at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey, is recruiting an Assistant or Associate Professor to serve as Associate Residency Program Director.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Residency Program Director in managing all aspects of the residency program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to program administration; evaluation of residents, faculty, and the program; resident recruitment, selection and promotion; monitoring resident duty hours and work environment; and program licensure and accreditation.

 

In addition to their duties as Associate Residency Program Director, the selected candidate will also provide clinical services and supervise residents in consultation-liaison or emergency room settings. They will be responsible for bedside and didactic teaching of medical students and trainees and have the opportunity to engage in research and other scholarly activities in an urban tertiary-care medical center. Psychiatrists with added qualifications in or Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, or Geriatric Psychiatry are strongly encouraged to apply.

Candidates must be able to obtain a New Jersey medical license and be board certified or board eligible. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.
