Clinical and Translational Faculty Position in Mood Disorders

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida is recruiting for two faculty members at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level with clinical and research expertise in depressive disorder.
The positions will be a core part of the growing clinical and translational research program in the Department of Psychiatry at UF. These positions are in a major medical center in Gainesville Florida, at a Top 10 public university in a pleasant, family-friendly community with a modest cost of living and high quality of life.

The applicant will develop his/her own area of externally funded research, in collaboration with established faculty in the Department of Psychiatry, the College of Medicine, the Health Science Center and throughout UF. The adult inpatient and outpatient services provided by the Department of Psychiatry, which include electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), deep brain stimulation (DBS), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), partial hospitalization (PHP), a specialized geriatric psychiatry inpatient unit, and an inpatient unit for medically and psychiatrically complex patients, provide an ideal setting for clinical and translational research in MDD and other mood disorders.

Required Qualifications:
  • MD, DO, Board Certified psychiatrists and PhD level psychologists
  • Clinical and research experience with depression and other mood disorders
  • A track record of extramural funding, such as NIH-funding, collaborative approach to research, and teaching and mentoring
