Program Administrators play an integral role in the success of psychiatric residency programs. To help ensure their success, AADPRT supports them with educational offerings and opportunities for networking and professional development.
I am excited to begin this journey as the 2016 Program Administrator Caucus Chair.
Just a bit of history and overview of our Caucus……
My predecessor, Carol Regan, C-TAGME from the University of Buffalo, has worked very hard over the past 3 years as the inaugural chair. One of Carol’s goals before handing over the torch was getting our group’s name changed to be recognized through AADPRT as “Program Administrator”, this was a huge step forward for us collectively and we hope you can all take this back to your institutions to help aide in your professional development and recognition as an instrumental part of your institution. Thank you, Carol, for a smooth transition and I look forward to your continued support and knowledge going forward.
We have some new members on the Steering Committee this year:
The newly appointed chair to the Information committee is Ola Golovinsky. Ola served previously as chair of the Membership committee and has assumed her new role at this year’s AADPRT meeting.
Angelia Powell has been appointed chair to the Membership committee as well as Dorothy Winkler for C-TAGME and Tara Lauriat for the Professional Development committee.
Barbara Burns and Elaine Danyew will continue as co-chairs for the Planning committee in addition to Nancy Lenz for the Lucille Fusaro Meinsler Administrator Award committee.
I would like to thank all of the current and past committee chairs and committee members for their hard work and dedication to making the AADPRT Program Administrator Caucus such a success! Thank you again for your leadership and mentorship.
If you are interested in joining a committee or have questions, please feel free to reach out to us.
As a Program Administrator, you are a caucus member, you have a voice! The membership of the Program Administrator Caucus consists of administrators of general and subspecialty psychiatry training programs. I am looking forward to hearing from all of you and hopefully getting to meet with and collaborate with you at next year’s meeting!
AADPRT was hosted by Austin, TX this past year, and 177 administrators were in attendance. There are many new opportunities to get involved. I encourage you to join a committee or present at next year’s symposium.
Looking forward to what's to come...
