Bon Appétit magazine names Dallas the 2019 restaurant city of the year!

The following list of Dallas restaurants compiled and recommended by Lia Thomas, Adriane dela Cruz, and Rachel Russo are divided into Dallas districts -- all within 15 minutes driving distance of the Hilton Anatole.

Back by popular demand are the AADPRT Networking Dinners. These social soirees with friends and new faces take place the first night of the Annual Meeting -- Wednesday, March 4. Don't miss this fantastic opportunity!

BISHOPS ART DISTRICT

The area prides itself on being “Dallas’ most independent neighborhood”. This trendy area in South Dallas has lots of little shops. Try Emporium Pies, Dude, Sweet Chocolate or the two new ice cream stores (Azucar and MELT). Hankering for great BBQ? Check out Lockhart’s Smokehouse. Pro tip: get there by 11 – the meat will run out!

TRINITY GROVES

A new food scene in East Dallas, known to be an “incubator” for new restaurants. If you want to escape hotel food, try Off Site Kitchen for great burgers. Also, stop at Cake Bar for a sweet slice to take back to your hotel room.

DOWNTOWN / ARTS DISTRICT/ KLYDE WARREN PARK

You can find sunrise yoga and mid-day food trucks surrounding Klyde Warren Park, which is within walking distance of the Dallas Museum of Art, the Nasher Sculpture Garden, and the Crow Collection of Asia Art. Downtown is a short walk away, and if you get lost, you might find yourself in front of the original Neiman Marcus location. If you’re wanting Tex-Mex, go to El Fenix by the Perot Museum.

UPTOWN

Beginning at the north side of downtown Dallas, Uptown is a dynamic district with shopping, restaurants, and nightlife destinations that are as popular with those calling the neighborhood home as they are with visitors. Included in Uptown is West Village which has a large concentration of national and local retailers, restaurants, and bars at an outdoor shopping destination spanning several city blocks. The Knox/Henderson area is also very walkable with restaurants, shopping, and the Katy Trail which is a 3.5 mile multi use trail that ends at Victory Plaza/American Airlines Center.

Howard Wang's -- Uptown China Brasserie. Since our opening in April of 2011, Howard Wang's Uptown China Brasserie has quickly become the destination for quality Chinese cuisine, great drinks and a relaxing, modern atmosphere. A former warehouse district turned vibrant area that gets its name from the proliferation of upscale art galleries and interior design showrooms. It has also become known for its fine dining establishments. Celebration Restaurant – A favorite spot for Southern home-cooking since 1971 that describes itself as Dallas’ first farm-to-table restaurant. Menu includes classic Southern dishes like fried chicken and chicken fried steak along with salads and fresh fish. Menu emphasizes many locally sourced, Texan ingredients. The restaurant is built in a series of former houses and grows many of their own vegetables and herbs.
