AADPRT 2008 Annual Meeting
Sunday Morning Plenary
Models for the new ABPN in-training credentialing requirement
The ABPN’s decision to eliminate the live patient section from the part two oral board examination has left residency programs with the task of credentialing trainee competency in patient interviewing and case presentation skills during residency. The AADPRT Interview Skills Credentialing Task Force has been working with the ABPN to develop multiple models for implementation of this new credentialing process. During the plenary session, a panel of program directors will present alternative approaches for meeting the requirement, with discussion of advantages and disadvantages, suggestions for training faculty, and tips for implementation.
