Summer 2005 TAGME Update:
In early July, Pediatrics successfully piloted the first certification assessment for coordinators. Surgery will pilot their assessment in November at the College of Surgeons Meeting. And, this Fall, at the TAGME Executive Board Meeting, national certification will be awarded to coordinators that have successfully completed the certification assessment process. This is a pivotal time for our profession!
Two more clinical specialties have been added to the list that have requested permission to begin developing measurement tools for certification. It is anticipated that all 4 specialties will present their measurement tools for review/approval at the fall TAGME Executive Board Meeting.
- Psychiatry—request to develop measurement tools approved Diagnostic Radiology—request approved Thoracic Surgery—request approved Vascular Surgery (subspecialty of surgery)
- Psychiatry Coordinator Assessment Tools (PCAT) Task Force We're on the case! We're developing a set of Work Effort Tools and a set of Assessment Questions for Psychiatry. We'll email updates on each step of the process via the listserve. More to come soon!
