Duties to be performed on the job:
Serve as the Housestaff Coordinator for the Department of Psychiatry, to manage tasks related to recruitment, hiring, evaluation and documentation of the training of psychiatry residents. Ensure adherence to ACGME requirements for individual resident education, facilitating compliance with accreditation, licensure and certification requirements. Design and manage resident on-call schedule and rotation schedule. Coordinate with teaching faculty to schedule educational curriculum, seminars, and rotations. Maintain database of current and past residents’ demographics, rotations, training and licensure status, etc. compile data and information in preparation for residency review site visits. Prepare and maintain resident personnel appointments and payroll records. Process and enroll residents in housestaff health insurance. Manage overall residency program budget, including portion designated by the VA. Prepare and maintain recruitment and website materials. Compile and review all residency applications to determine which applications should be forwarded to training directors for consideration and arrange applicant interviews. Develop and maintain database on applicants using ERAS program. Utilize National Residency Matching Program to rank and select applicants based on interview selection criteria and faculty recommendation. Plan and conduct orientations for incoming residents.
Skills, knowledge and abilities essential to perform on the job:
The Department of Psychiatry is seeking an individual with demonstrated experience in residency administration. Working knowledge of ACGME and other residency requirements; experience using NRMP and ERAS programs. Demonstrated skill in administration of budgets with multiple funding sources. Excellent writing skills to initiate, compose and edit reports and correspondence. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with Directors, senior level administrators, trainees, academicians and all others concerning a wide range of complex organizational and administrative issues, Skill in working as part of a professional team, collaborating with colleagues. Skill analyzing information, problems and situations to define problems objectively, identify patterns, formulate conclusions and suggest alternatives. Demonstrated supervisory skills including experience hiring, training, providing performance reviews, discipline and management of staff. Skill establishing and managing internal operating systems including general and confidential filing and tracking systems. Demonstrated computer literacy in Microsoft Office and internet applications.

Working Hours and Days: M-F 8-5
Pay Range: $3758-$6767/MO
